Using the Facility

Community Guidelines

Keeping the Doors Locked

To ensure Oonee remains secure, make sure you fully close the door and check it's locked before leaving the facility. Don’t hold the door open for others. With your help, we can keep your bike and everyone else’s safe.

Some of our newer facilities are equipped with automated doors that are designed to make entering and exiting with a bike easier. If you notice a malfunction, we ask that you notify us immediately at support@oonee.us

One-Vehicle One Space

Oversized vehicles such as mopeds, motorcycles are not allowed inside and will be removed. Our rule is “one vehicle one space”. This means that vehicles inside the stations must be parked in a way that does not obstruct other users to park in an available space or retrieve their vehicle from a rack. If you aren’t sure whether your vehicle would be allowed, please ask us at support@oonee.us before bringing it inside.

To ensure that everyone has room to park and retrieve their bikes, vehicles must be parked on a designated bike rack. Vehicles parked in the middle of the station that blocks other user’s access will be removed from the facility. Users who are found to be in repeat violation of this rule will receive a suspension of membership

72-Hour Limit on Stays

There is a three-day limit on parking stays at the stations. The goal of this rule is to ensure that space is available for regular users. Bicycles that remain for longer than three days will be clipped and removed.

Always Locking Your Bike

All bikes and micromobility devices must be locked inside Oonee. We strongly recommend a thick U-lock that is fastened through the frame and the locking bar, for maximum protection. Oonee is not responsible for missing bicycles that were not locked properly. To encourage security and convenience, we are piloting smart locks at some of our new stations.

Unauthorized Items

Storing other items besides for micro-mobility devices and their accessories are prohibited and will be removed at the owner’s expense. Approved accessories include helmets and spare locks and must be attached to your vehicle. If you aren’t sure whether your item would be allowed, please ask us at support@oonee.us before bringing it inside.

New: Due to limited space, bags and backpacks will no longer be permitted to be stored in the stations.

One Vehicle Limit

Each user can bring no more than one vehicle into the facility due to limited space. Users who bring a multiple vehicle into the facility may face a membership suspension and have their vehicle removed.

Removed and Abandoned Vehicles

Vehicles and items that have been removed from the stations for violating one of our rules will be brought to a storage facility. Owners can contact Oonee at support@oonee.us to retrieve a removed item. There will be a $100 retrieval fee due in order for the item/bike to be released. Owners have 30 days to claim their vehicle/item before it is considered abandoned. Abandoned vehicles will be discarded, donated, or auctioned. Oonee is not responsible for damage or loss of vehicles once it has been removed from a station. Items and vehicles may be exposed to outdoor conditions while it is in storage.

Bikes and scooters can be retrieved by contacting the Oonee operations team at support@oonee.us or 917-342-2316 to schedule a pick-up appointment. Appointments can be made at a mutually agreed upon time with Oonee’s staff members on Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., with the exception of Federal Holidays.

Service Closures and Notices

Occasionally, we are forced to suspend service due to inclement weather and other disruptions. Notices are sent out to users via email. Weather service outage notices are sent out more than 24 hours in advance.

If you need to retrieve your bike during a service outage, you can email or call us and we can grant on the spot access.

Code of Conduct

Disrespectful, unruly, and/or illegal behavior, smoking, drinking, loitering, littering and sleeping is not tolerated and can result in a temporary or permanent membership suspension.

FAQ

  • Oonee provides several layers of security in our facilities, making it vastly more secure than unprotected bicycle racks.

    1. Verification: Each user’s identity is verified at sign-up to deter bad actors and bad thieves

    2. Access-controlled space: Only verified users are allowed to access the facilities

    3. Security monitoring: Each station is equipped with a motion activated security camera

  • Yup :)

  • There is none.

  • Our goal is to ensure that each installation can be used by as many people in the community as possible. For example, a bike room of 20 people in a busy downtown area can often support several hundred members, since not all users commute by bike everyday. At this level, each user has a reasonable chance of having a space on the days that they do commute by bike.

  • Currently there is no way to see space availability remotely. In the near future once we release our Oonee app, we’ll be introducing new self-locking rack technology in the future that will allow us to show real-time availability through the app.

  • Yes. Oonee welcomes e-scooter, e-skateboards, and all kinds of micromobility vehicles.

Mopeds, motorcycles, and other large vehicles are not allowed inside the parking facilities.

  • No. Mopeds, motorcycles and other oversized vehicles are not allowed inside the stations and will be removed. Our rule is "one vehicle, one spot" and these vehicles take up more than one spot. If you aren't sure whether your vehicle is allowed, please check with us before using the facility by sharing a photo and measurement of your vehicle at support@oonee.us
